The style I am doing is black and white portraits. In these pictures, I am trying to capture peoples emotions without having them (for example) smile with a big grin when I tell them to think of something happy, but rather have them show emotions through their eyes. I am trying to emulate Richard Avendon's portraits by using a white background and by taking pictures in black and white, as well as having these people show emotions through their eyes.
These are all really good and I think you accomplished the emotions in the eyes really well. Maybe you could play around with focusing closer on the face, but other than that I think the set is really good.
ReplyDeletegreat series. i think that your pics really look a lot like Avedon's photos. i also really like how you have a couple different photos of each person. i think this really helps bring out the emotion better in each person.
ReplyDeleteI really like your series. sometimes I wished that the frame was a little smaller and the pictures were zoomed in a little
ReplyDeleteGreat start. These look great. However for pictures like the first I think you should enlarge the frame because you are almost cutting of the subjects forehead.
ReplyDeleteGood job! I really liked how you used the same models, but you captured them with different emotions. I also liked how you incorporated yourself into the series. Good job!
ReplyDeleteThe focus is good and the models you chose are very good. My only recommendation is that you make sure you get the lighting balanced. Just make sure its not too dark or too bright.
