class portrait number two

 For Ian's portrait, I tried to copy the series where he photographed things around him, and then edited it on photoshop. The edit made the colors really pop and stand out.

 For Alistair's portrait, I chose the copy the series where he photographed people and things that were around him, and then we went a edited it using the Warhol filter, making the colors pop out and extreme.

 For Sam's portrait, I chose to copy the series where he photographed people, mostly up close and of peoples eyes. Then, he photographed a building which had a wall or garage that was completely blank. The last part of his process was to overlay someone's face onto a wall or garage.

For Rufus' portrait, I chose to copy the series where he did portrait's (which he photographed in black and white). He tried to photograph peoples raw emotions which is what I tried to copy.

For Emily's portrait, I chose to copy her portrait series, where she photographed people with both a black background/lighting that she created as well as a white background. She photographed people exposing their emotions.

For Jack's portrait, I chose the series where he took up close and zoomed in photos of everyday things, so for his portrait I chose to zoom in on his face. He also photographed in color, and didn't edit his photographs a lot.

class portraits number one

  For Cora's portrait, I found a square piece of glass that showed reflection, because one of her drafts was one where she photographed reflections of herself. There wasn't a certain angle that she photographed at, so I took the photo of her standing up.

 For Kyle's portrait, I tried to copy the series he did where he photographed his subjects while they created shapes with their bodies. After he photographed his subjects, he added an overlay of some sort, like dots for example.

 For Max's portrait, I tried to copy the portrait series where he photographed his subjects very close up, and in black and white. He used selective framing in his series, where he would focus more on the upper part or the lower part of the subjects face. He also photographed using flash and tried to show the raw emotions of his subjects.

 For Aussie's portrait, I tried to copy her fashion/model series where she photographed her subjects in black and white, trying to capture a model type feeling.

For Joshua's portrait series, I focused on the series where he took blurry portraits. He got up close to the subjects face, shot it in black and white, and shook the camera around. After taking the picture, he put a filter on the camera where he added a grey frame to the edges of the photo.

For Greer's portrait, I focused on her series where she did portraits with an overlay of plants. She would start by taking a portrait either flat on or a side view, just a simple raw portrait. Then, she would photograph a plant, maybe a pretty flower or some bushes, and then would place the plant on top of the portrait, creating this beautiful overlay.

spring four

For this fourth series, I tried to find new, different textures than what I had photographed before. When searching for textures, I found that rust is always a rich one as well as walls that are bumped up and are somewhat dirty. My approach was to set the camera on macro, to go out and walk around, photographing all sorts of different textures, while getting in close on them.
