fall series two

For this series, I tried to improve my pictures by cropping out/not including the foreground (which is the velvet sheet) so that the mushrooms and peppers look more mysterious and odd. This series is still life, and I am focusing only on mushrooms and peppers. I am shooting in black and white while trying to cast different shadows. I ended up using only two mushrooms for this series but photographed it at all different angles. Same type of thing with the peppers. My approach when photographing these two objects are to photograph them one at a time and to photograph every possible angle of it. Then I choose another object and repeat this system with that, and so on.

  1. I really like this set of photos and I especially like the first one because the black and white brings out the little pealing pieces. Great job on all of these.

  3. I think that these objects are better to take photos of as they have many different aspects that add to the photo and you have captured them very well, well done.

  5. I think you did a great job on your second set trying to mimic the photography style of Edward Weston. I really love the different shadows on the peppers and the mushrooms from the lighting in your photos. My favorite photos of yours are the peppers and mushrooms where the background is dark. The dark background with the shadows, really helps bring out the peppers and the mushrooms and their unique shapes. I really like your fifth to last photo because the dark background makes the mushroom stand out and shows its unique shape. Great job on all of your photos!

  6. I realllly like all of your mushroom pictures, but i feel like you are just photographing it from all sids like a box. I think that if you took photos at all different angles, you could get some really nice shadows. Really nice photos!
